How Kids Can Play Safe With Hemophilia

In this video from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, learn how children with hemophilia can play and live safely. The simple animation features four boys who all have hemophilia but love to play sports.

The film advises that boys with hemophilia stay away from contact sports (think football, wrestling, or hockey) that are likely to lead to injuries and bleeds, but that they don’t need to be wrapped up in bubble wrap to stay safe. The narrator reminds parents that it’s essential kids with hemophilia move around and stay physically active just like other kids.

Sports like bowling, golf, baseball, swimming and basketball should be safe for children with hemophilia, as long as they’re cautious and they stay up to date with their factor infusions.
