In his latest column, Joe MacDonald writes about finding joy in the midst of hardships. He reminisces about a balloon festival he went to with his family years ago. This was when his son was starting to deal with more physical limitations, due to his hemophilia. Nonetheless, he wanted his son to have fulfilling experiences in spite of the physical challenges.

Here’s an excerpt: “Living with a chronic bleeding disorder creates unique challenges for a family. One minute, everything is flowing along without any hint of illness, and at a turn of a dime, an internal bleed can knock us to our knees. In the darkest of moments, we must find pockets of respite to encourage and strengthen our spirits.”

Do you have any takeaways from Joe’s column?
