I was born when there were not good treatments for hemophilia, just whole blood and plasma. I was also born with exceptional athletic abilities. I was always playing some sport and was also always nursing bleeds connected with playing sports. I could not get clearance from doctors to play on school teams but was also looking for any pickup games. My parents tried to discourage me from playing but I did anyway. My Dad was a very good athlete and he tried to get me interested in activities where I wouldn’t get hurt. He was a farmer and would come out of the fields and play some sport with me making sure I would not do too much. No matter how tired he was always there to play if I wanted to, which I always did. My parents were very special people
