This video from Next9NEWS takes viewers along on Colorado-based mountaineer Chris Bombardier’s incredible journey to the summit of Mount Everest.
Considered one of the most difficult feats a human can achieve, Bombardier’s Everest climb is even more amazing as it’s believed he’s the only person with hemophilia to do so successfully.
Bombardier explains that he’s been dreaming about climbing Everest for many years and opens up about what life is like with severe hemophilia B. Like most people with hemophilia, Bombardier needs to take clotting factor every few days to help prevent bleeds. The factor, which is administered intravenously, obviously made his epic journey even more challenging.
At one point in the climb, Bombardier felt unable to go on but was motivated by members of his team. He recounts the emotions he felt when he reached the summit and talks earnestly about how anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
Bombardier reached the summit of Mount Everest on May 22, 2017.
