This video from Wochit News is all about a new treatment for severe hemophilia A. The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, California, has developed a breakthrough treatment that can reduce the bleeding episodes in people living with hemophilia A by up to 90 percent.

Currently, people who have severe hemophilia A need to have hour-long intravenous clotting factor treatments three times a week to help prevent bleeds. The research team at the hospital found that the monoclonal antibody emicizumab dramatically decreased the bleeding episodes for hemophilia A patients, and the treatment only needs to be given once a week by subcutaneous injection.
