InSourceRx and NHF

InSourceRx is partnering with the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) to help those with inheritable blood disorders, such as hemophilia, better afford medications.

InSourceRx is a pharmacy discount card company that teams up with nonprofit and patient advocacy organizations to provide discounts for essential medicines and supplies.

Blood clotting factor products used by many blood disorder patients are ineligible for InSourceRx discounts, however. Visit this website for more information and to sign up for the free savings card for other brand name and generic medications.

“This partnership is a step in a positive direction for continuing to remove barriers to medication access,” Leonard Valentino, MD, NHF’s vice president and CEO, said in a press release. “We at NHF are hopeful this new partnership will make a noticeable impact in patients’ lives and wallets.”

The collaboration is particularly timely as many patients contend with financial challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of them were already struggling to obtain life-saving medicines. This partnership seeks to help patients have a better and more affordable quality of life.

InSourceRx works with a nationwide network of more than 60,000 pharmacies. As part of its blood disorders community charitable efforts, the company will donate a portion of prescription proceeds to the nonprofit NHF, a leader in research, education, and advocacy for inheritable blood disorders.

Patients will be able to use their new prescription savings card for discounts  of up to 80%. To get their card, patients can download and print it, or have it mailed to them. Next, they must enter the name of the prescription ithey need filled on a provided form. To find a network pharmacy, patients then must enter their city, state, or ZIP code. To obtain the savings, patients must show the card when filling prescriptions.

There will be extra cards included in patient orders for use by family members and friends until those individuals order their own. Also, while InSourceRx is not insurance, it may complement some insurance benefits. Patients are advised to check with their medical insurance company about possible reimbursement or credits toward their premium deductible. Further, in some cases, patients may use their health savings account with their InSourceRx Card.
